Solo, duo or trios are OPTIONAL and can provide some specialized training and additional performance experiences. However, students and families need to be aware of the additional financial and time commitment. Competitive routines represent Sisters Dance Academy and are expected to be well-prepared, well-rehearsed and in an approved/appropriate costume.
TIME COMMITMENT. Dancers will need at least 4 hours (typically 4-6 hours) of private lessons with their choreographer to learn and clean dances. Plus a minimum of 10 hours rehearsing on their own. You will need to budget time wisely.
CHOREOGRAPHY FEE. A one-time fee of $200 for solos / $150 per dancer for duo / $100 per dancer for trios is paid directly to the choreographer. Note: All dancers competing in a solo, duo, or trio must be working with a choreographer. Self-choreography is not allowed for competition.
CHOREOGRAPHY. Once the choreography is set, dancers cannot change it without approval from the choreographer. Like any class, dancers are expected to respect the feedback given during rehearsal and apply it accordingly.
PRIVATE LESSONS. $60 per hour, paid directly to your choreographer for the time learning and cleaning choreography. This needs to be a minimum of 4 hours, but typically 6-8 hours.
