ARRIVAL: Check-in times & room/group assignments are posted HERE. Dancers need to arrive in stage-ready costume, hair, makeup (except for lipstick which can be applied right before stage time), and costumes for their first dance.

3-10 years: A parent/guardian needs to sign in dancers. You will receive a sticker with your dancer's name on it. This becomes your “ticket” to enter backstage to pick up your child at check out time.

11+ years: Dancers do not need a parent for check-in, but must sign in.

Once checked in, dancers must remain in their assigned room. Dancers cannot leave to enter the Commons during intermission.

DEPARTURE:  Pre-K and K-1st grade classes will check out at intermission. All other dancers, unless pre-arranged with Jenica, will check out after the final curtain call. For the safety of our dancers, only ONE adult per dancer/family — the one with the name sticker(s) — may go back to the choir/band rooms.

COSTUME CHECKLISTS: Before dropping off your dancers, please check to ensure they have EACH & EVERY costume item and BOTH shoes (ie both tap shoes, or both half soles, etc.). This is especially critical when coming back for the evening performance. We cannot stress this enough.

Take special care of costumes and make sure they are free of wrinkles. Do not wash or use a traditional iron because the materials can shrink, burn, melt, or change color. Please use only a steam iron, hand held steamer, or hang in the bathroom during a shower.

A commercial-grade clothes steamer will be available in the front office the weeks before rehearsal and recital, and in the auditorium during rehearsal.

Label eeeevvvverrrrryyyything!!

COSTUME CHANGES: There are changing pods in each room. We recommend wearing a nude/skintone leotard underneath costumes for quick and easy costume changes. (Jenica has discounted options)

FOOD/DRINK: Please send a water bottle with your child. Note that ONLY WATER is permitted in the backstage rooms. Snacks are allowed if they are clean, NOT messy!

Bake Sale: If dancers would like anything from the bake sale, please visit before their call-time and send it backstage with them BEFORE the show starts.

FOR FAMILY MEMBERS & FRIENDS DURING THE PERFORMANCE

Applause: Enthusiastic applause and cheering is encouraged (the louder the better!!) — but it is not appropriate to yell a child's name.

Auditorium: Please refrain from entering and exiting during the performance. It is very distracting to the performers and to the audience. If urgent, ushers will allow doors to open between numbers. NO EATING or drinking in the auditorium.

Backstage: Friends and family are NOT permitted beyond the hallway doors. There is a lot of backstage activity in a limited space, and the dressing rooms are private areas. Unless you are the adult picking up your young children, please meet dancers in the Commons after the recital.
